In September, 2018
we had our first ever
Indigenous Performers Night!

It was an awesome night!
In May, we had another specialty night ... it was our 6th birthday and we had an ...
African Jamboree!
It was our first fully plugged event and featured two support acts and a four piece African dance band.
Another AWESOME NIGHT!

Every event is different at Rous Unplugged -
our region has a wealth of talent and we see so many
wonderful acts and generous performers,
night after night.
Our awesome community grows all the time,
supporting Rous Unplugged and helping to create
a heart-warming, wonderful night - month after month.
The most common phrase we hear at the end of most nights is
"This was the best night ever - the best so far!"
We would like to thank all those
who have performed at Rous Unplugged over the years
and all those who have been in the audience
- without any of you, this event simply would not be so great.
Thank you so much, from Rous Unplugged.
Rous Unplugged would like to welcome one and all!
Welcome musicians and dancers,
storytellers and poets, actors and comedians,
welcome solo artists, duos, trios & quartets,
welcome instrumentalists and vocalists, in large and small groups alike,
and a big welcome to all our local and not-so-local talented artists.

These exquisite performance evenings are a wonderful opportunity
to come and meet some of your local community
and share in some incredibly memorable moments!

Rous Unplugged - A Truly Magical Entertainment Experience!

An appreciative audience!
Rous Unplugged is a monthly unplugged event in Rous Mill, near Alstonville, in Northern N.S.W., Australia. It features talented musicians, poets, dancers, comedians and other performance artists from both nearby and afar.

The idea behind Rous Unplugged was the creation of a local community event where our performers, both new and experienced, could bring their particular gifts to the acoustic stage and hone their skills whilst providing an excellent, high quality entertainment experience for the audience.

True to its name, Rous Unplugged is a completely unplugged event and the acoustics of the beautiful Rous Mill Hall bring their magic to this special evening and provide an awesome venue with great sound.

Rous Unplugged is held on the last Friday of each month, starting at 7.00pm sharp. Doors open at 6.30pm. We are trying to make Rous Unplugged as accessible to all as possible, and therefore we charge a very low entry fee of $3.00 per person, whether performing or not.

Performers can now apply for a 12 minute spot in upcoming Rous Unplugged events. Simply click on the Performers tab, then enter and submit your details and we'll be in touch shortly to confirm your spot on the next Rous Unplugged performers list.

Rous Unplugged is a non-profit venture and all profits are donated to the New Alstonville Preschool - which is in the process of being designed and built in Alstonville to service the future preschoolers of Alstonville. To date Rous Unplugged has donated $7071 to the New Alstonville Preschool.

During the interval, a wide range of teas, coffee, chai, biscuits and cakes, etc. are available, courtesy of the parents and staff from the New Alstonville Preschool committee and a further donation is encouraged - but not required. It's a great opportunity to meet some old friends and make some new ones.
